The NHS Bowel Cancer Screening programme today announced the introduction of flexible sigmoidoscopy screening as an addition to the programme. It will be rolled out across England over the next few years. Flexisig screening will be offered to men and women aged 55 and will be available for those aged up to 59. Faecal occult blood testing (FOBt) will continue to be offered to men and women from the age of 60.
