Diethylstilbestrol (DES) (a synthetic nonsteroidal oestrogen) exposed women have now reached an age when breast cancer is common. A number of studies have suggested such women are at an increased risk of breast cancer. It is therefore particularly important that women in this situation take up their invitation to breast screening when it is offered and remain breast aware at all times.
