This report details the results of a survey of the image quality and dose of the mammography systems in the NHSBSP as part of the work of the National Coordinating Group for Breast Screening Physics. The surveys were conducted by local physicists as part of routine quality control and the films and data analysed centrally by the National Coordinating Centre for the Physics of Mammography (NCCPM). Results including comparison with national ranges have been sent to local physicists with the aim of facilitating investigation and optimisation of those systems with performance in the outer quartiles.
