ISBN 1 84463 022 6 - Published April 2005 This publication brings together standards for the NHS Breast Screening Programme in a single document. The standards have been developed by different professional quality assurance (QA) groups at different times. Some standards have been revised recently; some are still in the process of being revised. Because of this, there are inconsistencies in terminology and the presentation of standards. In addition, some standards may need to be revised as new techniques (such as digital mammography) come into routine use. This is the second version of the document which exists only as a PDF. The intention is to review it and publish a revised edition in hard copy when some of the issues have been resolved.
