NHSBSP Publication No 20 revised November 2003 PDF 660Kb - ISBN 1 84463 009 9 These guidelines on surgical quality assurance have been drawn up by the National Coordination Group for Surgeons working in Breast Cancer Screening and endorsed by the Royal College of Surgeons. The guidelines set out to identify outcome measures and targets, to suggest a framework for surgical quality assurance and to put forward ways in which the quality of each surgeon's performance can be measured. The group has drawn upon the work on quality assurance already carried out by the radiologists and pathologists.
