This publication gives advice on best practice on how to give information about the results of audit of an individual case of cancer to the patient concerned and how to deal with any related medico-legal aspects.

It is directed towards cases of cancer diagnosed symptomatically in the interval between routine screening in those whom the programme has previously screened and given a normal result.
