NHSCSP Publication No. 21 - ISBN 1 84 4630 21 8 This new guidance is designed to ensure that reasonable and effective failsafe measures are applied consistently across the NHS Cervical Screening Programme while avoiding unnecessary duplication of administrative effort. It updates and replaces the 1992 guidance. The guidance refers to the National Health Applications and Infrastructure Services (NHAIS) system (the Exeter system). The system is under review as part of the National Programme for Information Technology in the NHS (NPfIT) and is likely to change but is expected to offer the same functions as the current arrangements. Copies of NHSCSP publications are normally free of charge for staff working within the NHS, the voluntary sector and for healthcare students. To order copies or obtain details of prices and availability of publications to those outside the NHS, please contact the Department of Health publication orderline: Telephone: 0300 123 1002, Textphone: 0300 123 1003, Fax: 01623 724 524, Email orders: [email protected] or order directly from the Department of Health Publications Orderline website.
